Salon Globalisto

Curated by Mo Laudi

17.06.21 > 30.09.21

Bonne Espérance Gallery, a gallery dedicated to South African contemporary art, invites you to SALON GLOBALISTO curated by MO LAUDI, the first group show curated by a South African multi-disciplinary artist and DJ.

Mo Laudi has brought together work by some of the historic South African artists who lack visibility in France like the painter, draftsman and musician Gerard Sekoto and the photographer George Hallett who famously documented the township called District Six and the community of musicians exiled in Europe.  Alongside these tributes, he weaves a new lineage of family and friends who either work in South Africa or in the diaspora in France and Belgium.

SALON GLOBALISTO is an invitation to an intimate conversation with the polymorphous voices of fifteen artists presenting paintings, sculptures, photography, works on paper, NFTs, video and sound.  Mo Laudi will install a sound installation with music recorded by Gerard Sekoto while he lived in Paris in 1959 in the adjacent church, Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle.  Please contact the gallery for timings.
